Resetting/Updating your PTS Password
Periodically, you will be asked to update/change your PTS password. This change is meant to not only protect your information and user account but to also protect Princeton Theological Seminary as a whole.
The current password policy requires:
- Passwords to be at least 10 characters long
- Passwords to contain at least 1 capital letter
- Passwords to contain at least 1 lowercase letter
- Passwords to contain at least 1 number (0-9)
- Passwords to contain at least one special character (i.e. ! " $ % & ' ( ) * + , - . :)
- Passwords cannot be any of the 3 previous passwords used
- Passwords should not contain any personal information such as first name, last name, DOB, SSN, etc.
- Passwords expire every 180 days

There are a few methods to changing or updating your PTS password:
Via inside.ptsem.edu / account management
Please log into inside.ptsem.edu
Select your name on the upper right hand corner of the window.
A drop down menu will appear, please select Manage PTS Account.
From the provided Account management list choose "Change Password"
Enter your current password followed by your new password. You will be required to confirm the password before proceeding.
Once complete, press change password. You should receive a notification upon successful password change.
Via PTS Webmail
Go to https://mail.ptsem.edu and log in using your current log in credentials.
Note. if you are unable to log into this page as your password has already expired please utilize the email recovery option below.
once signed in select the "Options" menu on the upper right hand corner.
Select the "Change your password option"
Enter your current password followed by your new password. You will be required to confirm the password before proceeding.
Once complete, press "Save". You should receive a notification upon successful password change.
Via Email Recovery
This method requires that you have already established an account recovery email within your account. Current students should have this method already since this information is provided during the admissions process. To add a recovery email to your account please review these instructions.
Please visit Account Recovery
Enter the alternative email address that you have on file with PTS and press request recovery.
An email with the ability to reset your password and the current password standards will be sent to your personal email address.
Via Windows Alt+Control+Delete Menu (Employees only)
After you have signed into your computer, Press the Alt, Crtl and Delete keys at the same time.
A menu will populate, please select Change a Password
You will be prompted for your current password and the the new password.
