Working with Excel and/or PowerPoint Files
Inserting Excel document as a Link
- Navigate the Page in which you would like to insert the Excel Document
- Select images and files from the editing bar.
- Use the Upload Files and navigate to your the file you would like to insert
- Click insert
- Select the newly imported document icon and on the small floating menu select Show as Link.
- Use Preview to confirm your layout
- Select Update when you are satisfied with the changes.
Display Excel information on your Page
- Please be sure the you have inserted or attached the Excel documents on the your page before moving forward.
- Press Edit
- From the Editing bar, select Insert More content
- Select Other Macro from the provided list
- Search for Excel and select the Excel Macro.
- The Excel macro option will be displayed for you to select
- Page Name refers to to the page in which the content will be display
- File name is the option to select the item you would like to display, i.e. the excel document name. If you have multiple files added you can select the specific one.
- Show Grid selection will aloo you to retain or remove grid lines.
- Worksheet name will give you the option to rename the document
- Last Row allows you to specify the rows to display. For example, if your document has 120 rows and you only want to display rows 1-60, you enter 59 in the provide space. The resulting output would be to display rows 1-60. Showing all rows is set by default.
- Last Column allows you to specify the columns to display. For example, if your document has 20 columns and you only want to display rows 1-10, you enter 9 in the provide space. The resulting output would be to display columns 1-10. Showing all rows is set by default.
- Click insert when your selections have been made.
- A macro will be displayed as a box and entered where your cursor is placed.
- Move the macro and make any additional edit to the page you require.
- Utilize Preview to confirm you changes.
- Select Update when complete.
Inserting a PowerPoint Document as a Link
- Navigate the Page in which you would like to insert the PowerPoint Document
- Select images and files from the editing bar.
- Use the Upload Files and navigate to your the file you would like to insert
- Click insert
- Select the newly imported document icon and on the small floating menu select Show as Link.
- Use Preview to confirm your layout
- Select Update when you are satisfied with the changes.
Display PowerPoint content
Displaying content within Confluence allows you to provide your users with an interactive slideshow. This will allow them to view the presentation with out leaving your page or opening a new window.
- Please be sure the you have inserted or attached the PowerPoint documents on the your page before moving forward.
- Press Edit
- From the Editing bar, select Insert More content
- Select Other Macro from the provided list
- Search for PowerPoint and select the PowerPoint Macro.
- The PowerPoint macro options will be displayed for you to select
- Page Name refers to to the page in which the content will be display
- File name is the option to select the item you would like to display, i.e. the PowerPoint document name. If you have multiple files added you can select the specific one.
- Slide number will allow you to just show specific slide or all slide. Leave blank to show all slides
- Height will allow you to define a maximum height for the document based on percentage or pixel size. Leave Blank for defaults
- Width will allow you to define a maximum width for the document based on percentage or pixel size. Leave Blank for defaults
- Click insert when your selections have been made.
- A macro will be displayed as a box and entered where your cursor is placed. (When previewing the page, it will display an interactive slideshow of the Presentation)
- Move the macro and make any additional edit to the page you require.
- Utilize Preview to confirm you changes.
- Select Update when complete.
